Why Calvin Center Summer Camps?

Welcome to Calvin Center Summer Camp, where faith, adventure, and the beauty of nature converge to create an extraordinary experience for campers seeking growth, connection, and lasting memories. Nestled within 400+ acres of beautiful landscapes, our camp has been a haven for exploration and spiritual discovery since 1960.

Children will immerse themselves in the thrill of outdoor activities such as canoeing, archery, climbing, horseback riding, and more! These adventures aren’t just about the physical challenges; they are opportunities for spiritual growth and connecting with the wonders of God’s creation. As campers paddle through serene waters, aim for the bullseye, reach the top of the bouldering wall, or bond with our gentle horses, they also connect with nature on a deeper level.

Our dedicated summer staff, aged 18 and older, participate in comprehensive training, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for a safe and meaningful camp experience. With a focus on first aid, child protection policies, and engaging bible study sessions, our staff is committed to providing a secure and faith-centered environment.

Our overnight camps feature an intimate ratio of 8 campers to 1 counselor, combined in a family group of 16 campers and 2 counselors. This intentional structure encourages close relationships within the group, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. Family groups, a mix of genders in both staff and campers, travel together throughout the week, creating an environment for learning, bonding, and forming relationships that last a lifetime.

Day campers have the opportunity to participate in all the camp activities but return home at the end of the day. The ratio remains the same of 8 campers to 1 counselor. Day camp is a great opportunity for children just beginning to come to camp.

Emphasizing the importance of nature, campers are encouraged to explore and discover the wonders around them – finding turtles, frogs, and new plants in the woods that God has created. This hands-on exploration serves as a unique pathway to spiritual growth and a deeper appreciation for the environment.

Worship and bible study lessons follow a summer theme, allowing campers to reflect, learn, and grow spiritually. Calvin Center Summer Camp is not just a place for outdoor adventures; it’s a sanctuary where faith, nature, and relationships converge to create an unforgettable and transformative summer experience.

Join us in building a lifetime of memories grounded in faith and the beauty of God’s creation!

The next morning, we do it all again. Drop off every morning at 8:30am and pick up at 5:30pm* that evening. Lunch is included.

SENIOR HIGH LEADERSHIP CAMP (SHL)

grades 9-12

The Senior High Leadership program contains three main focuses: Service, Leadership, and Fun! Through training and hands-on experiences, you will grow your leadership skills while making new friends and having fun.

Service: Put your faith into action by learning how to serve God by serving others! This portion of camp involves a little bit of everything – from assisting at the pool and in the kitchen, to leading energizers and helping to lead in worship. You will be part of the daily tasks of camp.

Leadership: Step out in faith, try new things, grow in responsibility, and learn about servant leadership in a supportive environment by helping to plan and lead programmatic activities for younger campers. SHL will have the opportunity to shadow counselors and even act in a CIT (counselor in training) capacity by leading games, helping campers, and more!

Fun: SHL will participate in all of the fun camp activities such as climbing, canoeing, mud pit, archery, swimming, crafts, and more!

SHL campers will stay in a cabin with their group and will be led by two counselors trained to support high school students as they grow in their faith and leadership skills. The SHL program is a great opportunity for high school students who hope to one day work at Calvin Center. We highly encourage this program for anyone interested in working as a camp counselor!

SHL is available June 9-14 and June 23-28. High school students may register for one week or both weeks. Campers interested in both weeks will receive the second week at ½ off!!

Cost: $250 / Second Week Add On $125

Reach Out Day Camp

AGES 8-25

This camp is a time of joy and success as a camp for people with special needs. While at Calvin Center, having the time of their life in a supportive environment, the campers receive extra supervision and two hours with our Therapeutic Horse-riding program. Campers will still have time for swimming in the pool, canoeing, archery and other normal camp activities. A high ratio of staff and volunteers ensures that each camper receives the care they need and a safe and enriching camp experience. A supplemental application is required for Reach Out participants, which must be approved by camp staff to complete registration. In order to create a safe place for all, Reach Out campers must be able to effectively communicate their basic needs and wants, maintain their own hygiene and bathroom needs, and be able to interact with peers and staff appropriately. If you have a question about additional needs your camper may need, please contact us to see if we can accommodate.
